Every garden needs an arbor. Often, an arbor has rose or grape vines climbing it and serves as a shady spot or as an entry archway. In the autumn, winter and early Spring, the leaves fall and the arbor stands uncovered except for bare vines. A well designed arbor tells a story about the garden, the people who love and tend the garden, or the locale. The story must be woven into the design of the arbor so the story is conveyed, with seasonal perspective, through all seasons.
