Cable Damascus with Hamon (close-up)

Cable Damascus with Hamon (close-up)
Close-up view of the cable damascus blade. Minimal twist during forging leads to lengthwise "flow" of the damascus grain. Grain is revealed by ferric cloride etch, and the hamon is produced by doing two etches: the first with fingernail polish applied as a resist, and the second a very light etch with the fingernail polish removed.
