February 23/24 Class
In their February, 2012 Intro to Blacksmithing class at Incandescent Iron, the FFA team (Jason, Dylan, Isaac and Levi with their teacher Charles Boyd) from Creston, WA made chisels, leaves, fancy coat hooks, BBQ tools with elegant twisted handles, and tongs. They will set up a blacksmith shop at their school over the next few weeks, and will pass their new skills along to other students in Wilbur and Creston. I'm looking forward to doing an afternoon workshop in Creston to help ratchet up their blacksmithing program.

Just a few weeks after completing their class, this team entered a metal arts contest and won first place with their fireplace tool sets. An additional team member, Austin Baarstad, was taught by the original group.
